In these strange and uncertain times one thing that has struck is is what a social bunch human beings are.

Being deprived of our group contact goes against all of our evolutionary programming.

During this time of isolation we have been relishing every opportunity to remain in contact with friends, neighbours and loved ones.

Wasn’t It great just seeing the neighbours when everyone came out and clapped for the NHS yesterday – yes we were showing our gratitude, but the event also allowed us (at a safe distance), just to say hello to those who live close by.

Whatsapp Groups

Facebook and Whatsapp groups have sprung up to include communities. My road has one, where everyone can keep in touch.

Messages such as “I am off to the shops – does anyone need anything”, appear.

Indeed, someone had a glut of rhubarb in their garden and posted availability at the end of their drive.

I do believe a number of people are now using this lockdown to create Rhubarb Gin.

Blogging

What I am trying to say is that it is natural for humans to want to communicate their feelings when placed in the un natural settings. To remain mentally healthy it is important to do so.

We have seen a growth in the number of people wanting to set up simple blogs, to write up their experience of the Covid Crisis 2020. As a record –  because this WILL go down in history.
