What’s in a (Domain) Name?  – More than .com

The .com boom, the .com bubble and the .com crash. .Com’s have become the ubiquitous tld (top level domain name – or the bit that goes on the end of a domain name). For many years if you didn’t get a .com, or a .co.uk or a tld that was related to your country, you felt as though your domain name was lacking something. Even .net or .org would do, but anything else was a no no.

In addition to that many more due to be released periodically. The whole point is to end the reliance on the .com or .co.uk.

What are these ‘New Tlds”?
